Wolverhampton’s grim run continued in the Premier League as a 0-2 defeat against Brentford on Saturday left them winless, and now the only club across Europe’s top five leagues without a league victory.
L'Équipe points out that Wolves now stand alone in that regard. Fiorentina had been in the same position, but their 5-1 win over Udinese on Sunday removed them from the list.
There have been two League Cup successes, against West Ham and Everton, yet in the league they remain bottom on 2 points.
Rob Edwards, appointed in November, has overseen a sequence of two draws and 15 defeats, equalling Sheffield United’s record for the longest winless start to a Premier League season at 17 matches.
Wolves could set a new unwanted mark next weekend if they are beaten this Saturday at Anfield by Hugo Etikite’s Liverpool.
