Sam Alabi, who joined Newcastle from Oldham Athletic in the summer of 2023, confirmed maximum points after the central midfielder doubled United's lead in the final stages from the penalty spot as Chris Moore's side recorded back-to-back league wins following a 3-0 home win against Blackburn Rovers last weekend.

Newcastle's youngsters will be aiming to maintain their winning start to the 2025/26 season when hosting Leicester City in their opening Premier League Cup Group B clash at the Magpies' Little Benton Academy on Tuesday, 26th August (kick-off 1pm BST).
