A productive second half display from Liverpool yielded them three goals to book a spot in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, avenging their 2-1 defeat at Molineux from three days ago.
Andy Robertson broke the deadlock with a rasping drive at the start of a considerably more energetic second half, and the left-back turned provider to set up Mohamed Salah for a tap-in two minutes later.
Curtis Jones notched the third for the visitors from outside the box, before Hee-Chan Hwang scored a late consolation goal, directly receiving a long kick from Wolves goalkeeper Sam Johnstone.
Liverpool started on the front foot with 17-year-old Rio Ngumoha’s enterprising wing-play present from word go to win his side’s first corner after five minutes.
Stemming from a short-corner routine, Cody Gakpo rose highest and nodded onto the post for Liverpool’s early opening chance, yet he strayed narrowly offside.
On his fourth start this season, Ngumoha stung the palms of Johnstone and continued to wreak havoc down the left flank.
As was the case in Wolves’ 2-1 victory on Tuesday night against Liverpool, the Old Gold failed to register a single shot before half-time.
Arne Slot’s men lacked the creativity to unlock the rearguard of the hosts. They were unable to fashion many clear-cut chances on the Wolves goal, which had been protected impressively.
Wolves did gain territory, but were left upfield once they gave away possession, and Liverpool profited from a rare transition opportunity.
Mohamed Salah drifted inside surrounded by a swarm of Wolves defenders, but managed to feed the ball to Curtis Jones.
Andy Robertson joined the attack and lurked on the edge of the box. The left-back rifled a first-time strike into the bottom right corner to score his second goal this season.
Salah, who barely supplied a flicker of threat in comparison to Ngumoha in the first half, had kicked into gear and doubled the advantage just two minutes later.
With their tails up, Liverpool ramped up their offensive threat through Robertson once more, who made a pinpoint cross to pick out Salah in front of goal.
The Egyptian held his run to stay onside at the back post and added to the equalising goal he netted at Molineux on Tuesday.
Before departing alongside Salah before the 70-minute mark, Ngumoha fired another shot straight at Johnstone and weaved through the Wolves defenders to certainly stake his claim to earn further starts.
Jones injected some further impetus from midfield, driving inside and unleashing an effort beyond the outstretched right glove of Johnstone, adding to his earlier assist.
Substitute Hee-Chan Hwang crashed into a challenge with Alexis Mac Allister, forcing Slot into replacing the Argentine with 18-year-old Trey Nyoni.
Liverpool were searching for more in the dying embers as Ryan Gravenberch cut the ball back to centre-back Ibrahima Konate with the goal gaping, only for the substitute to fluff his lines.
Johnstone went route one in stoppage time for Hwang to finish past Alisson for a late consolation goal, denying Liverpool a clean sheet.
After being dumped out of the FA Cup last season at the hands of Plymouth in the fourth round, Liverpool have now reached the quarter-finals in a dominant display at Wolves.
They travel to Galatasaray in the Champions League last 16 on Tuesday while Wolves will have ten days of rest before they return to league duties at Brentford.
