The Wolves 1877 Trust has welcomed Cesar Peixoto as the club’s new head coach, promising strong backing as he starts his tenure. He is charged with leading Wolves back to the Premier League after their relegation to the Championship.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, Peixoto was confirmed as Rob Edwards’ successor on Sunday, 15 June, on a two-year deal subject to a work permit.

The Trust says supporters will give Peixoto and his staff the support they need to settle and succeed. Chairman Keith Bickley offered best wishes, highlighted the loyalty and passion of Wolves fans, and said they look forward to welcoming him to Molineux next season.

Peixoto, 46, arrives after guiding Portuguese side Gil Vicente to sixth in the Primeira Liga.

In his first interview as head coach, he vowed to build a team supporters can be proud of and to do everything possible to take Wolves back to the top flight.
