According to Sky Germany, Wolves and Leicester City are the latest sides to enter the race to sign Bayer Leverkusen centre-back Odilon Kossounou.

It had previously been reported that Die Werkself would be willing to allow Kossounou to depart the BayArena before the end of the transfer window.

Considering the defender as one of their sellable assets, it had appeared as though Crystal Palace would look to sign the 23-year-old as a replacement for Marc Guéhi.

However, the England international has remained at Selhurst Park, leaving the Eagles without the appropriate funds to complete a move.

With the Bundesliga champions demanding €30 million for the defender, Palace have targeted Wolfsburg’s Maxence Lacroix instead.

Nevertheless, the Premier League remains Kossounou’s likely destination, with Wolves and Leicester remaining interested.

As of yet, neither side have made an offer for the 23-year-old, but it is expected that the defender will depart the club having been an unused substitute in Die Werkself’s opening-day victory against Borussia Mönchengladbach.
