Wolverhampton Wanderers are set to hold a series of meetings this week to finalise their January transfer strategy, as the club looks to strengthen under head coach Vítor Pereira and steer clear of relegation trouble, according to reports from Sky Sports.

Despite Wolves’ struggles at the foot of the Premier League table, Pereira continues to enjoy strong backing from the board and ownership, who remain impressed by his leadership and collaborative approach. His new three-year contract, signed earlier this season, reflects the club’s long-term faith in his vision, even amid a difficult start.

Since implementing tactical changes, notably reverting to a back four and making bold calls such as benching captain Toti, goalkeeper José Sá, and defender Emmanuel Agbadou, Wolves have shown signs of resilience. Replacement goalkeeper Sam Johnstone has conceded just twice in the past three matches, though both late goals cost Wolves valuable points.

Recruitment discussions will focus on identifying key positions, budget allocation, and potential transfer targets, as the club seeks to add depth and experience to the squad.

With new signing Ladislav Krejci impressing alongside Santiago Bueno, there is cautious optimism that Pereira’s project remains on track, provided reinforcements arrive to turn improved performances into much-needed wins.
