Wolves boss Cesar Peixoto and attacker Fer Lopez have been nominated for the Championship’s August awards.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, Peixoto, who replaced Rob Edwards after relegation, made the four-man manager shortlist after taking seven points from the opening three league matches.

Lopez, back from a loan at former club Celta Vigo last season, scored two and set up two in a strong individual start.

Peixoto is shortlisted alongside Charlton’s Nathan Jones, QPR’s Julien Stephan and Swansea’s Vitor Matos. Lopez is up against Southampton’s Kyle Larin, Middlesbrough’s Will Lankshear and Charlton defender Lloyd Jones.

August’s momentum stalled in September. Wolves lost their first match under Peixoto at West Ham on the first day of the month, then twice surrendered the lead in a 2-2 draw at Blues.

They visit Sheffield United on Sunday looking to return to winning ways.
