According to ExpressAndStar.com, Wolves are braced for an official approach from Crystal Palace for striker Jorgen Strand Larsen after talks advanced between the London club and agent Jorge Mendes, who is acting on Wolves’ behalf.
As of Thursday morning no formal bid had been lodged. Talks are understood to centre on £45m plus £5m in bonuses for the Norway international.
Leeds have also pursued the 25-year-old this month, with an offer from Elland Road rebuffed last week. West Ham and Nottingham Forest have explored interest. Wolves were keen to receive in excess of £40m, while Newcastle saw £50m and £55m bids rejected last summer.
An official Palace offer is expected with negotiations taking place in the background. Former Wolves sporting director Matt Hobbs moved into the same role at Selhurst Park last August.
Jean-Philippe Mateta is understood to be eyeing a move away this window. Boss Oliver Glasner has already confirmed he will depart the club he led to FA Cup and Community Shield glory at the end of the season.
Strand Larsen cost Wolves £23m last summer after a successful loan. He has one Premier League goal in 21 appearances, including 14 starts, this season for the top flight's bottom club.
