Wolves winger Chiquinho could save Bruno Lage and Jeff Shi millions, believes journalist Josh Holland.
While the Midlands outfit’s results have not been great recently, the 22-year-old has managed to make an impact, and Holland thinks he could have a big future at Molineux.
Chiquinho has only made eight league appearances this term, with most of those coming from off the bench. Nevertheless, he has still managed to impress.
It was the Portuguese youngster who sparked Wolves’ comeback against Chelsea earlier this month after Lage’s side had found themselves 2-0 down in the second half.
On the day, he provided two assists, including a delightful cross into the box that captain Conor Coady headed in at the death to ensure that the game finished 2-2.
It was Chiquinho’s third of the campaign, with the Portugal U21 international setting up one of Wolves’ four goals in their 4-0 win against Watford back in March.

When it comes to that right wing position, Wolves have Francisco Trincao, Pedro Neto and Adama Traore, though the last of that three is currently out on loan at Barcelona. However, going forward, Holland believes Chiquinho could be the long-term option for Lage.
Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the football journalist said: “If Trincao can’t do it and Neto’s struggling and Traore doesn’t want to play, Wolves can be smart with their business. They don’t need to pay 20 million for a right winger. Left winger is a different story, but right winger, they’ve got a youngster who’s going to want to impress.”
If he continues to make the kind of impact he has been making, then why not?
He looks like a talented wide man who can bring a lot to Wolves’ right flank, though club legend Steve Bull feels that he will need time to fully adapt to Lage’s methods.

“One player who does look promising is Chiquinho,” Bull said in his Express & Star column. “He’s one for the future and will come in and out of the team. He looks like a good talent but he needs time to adapt to the Premier League and how Bruno wants him to play.”
Lage may want a little bit more experience in that position, too, but if Wolves want to do something different on the right flank next season and are against splashing out on a new winger, then utilising Chiquinho fully could be the path to go down.
