Wolves are reportedly keen on signing Celtic flop Jeremy Toljan. The right back spent a spell on loan at Celtic from Borussia Dortmund; however, Toljan could be set for a Premier League move after impressing with Serie A side Sassuolo.
According to Fussball transfers, Toljan is an option for Wolves. The Premier League side are set for a pivotal summer as uncertainty lingers over the future of club captain Nelson Semedo. The Portuguese right-back’s contract expires on July 1, and while Wolves have offered a four-year extension, Semedo has yet to accept. Head coach Vítor Pereira is eager to retain the experienced defender, but growing interest from European clubs and Saudi Arabia—most notably Galatasaray—has put his future at Molineux in doubt.
In preparation for a possible departure, Wolves are actively assessing replacement options. One high-profile target is former Manchester City defender Kyle Walker, who recently returned from a loan spell at AC Milan. His top-flight experience and leadership could offer immediate value. Another name on the shortlist is Sunderland’s Trai Hume, a rising Northern Irish talent praised for his defensive strength and attacking contributions down the flank.
The club is also looking at internal solutions. Promising youngsters Pedro Lima and Dexter Lembikisa are being considered as potential successors should Semedo leave. With pre-season looming, Wolves are keen to secure stability at right-back sooner rather than later.
Borussia Dortmund in January 2019, Jeremy Toljan featured in 14 competitive games, including 10 league matches, helping secure the Scottish Premiership and Scottish Cup double. Debuting in a 2–0 win over St Johnstone, his disciplined performances contributed to the club’s treble-treble run before returning to Dortmund post-season. After the Celtic move, Toljan left for Sassuolo, initially on loan.
