Adama Traore could be another useful and sentimental addition at Molineux
The decision of the Wolverhampton Wanderers hierarchy to part ways with Rob Edwards at such a bizarre stage of pre-season has sent shockwaves through the Championship.
As a result of their recent relegation from the Premier League, transfer speculation at Molineux, unsurprisingly, has already been rife as the Old Gold and Black look to reshuffle their squad and balance the financial books simultaneously.
It has been widely reported that Brazilian midfielder, Joao Gomes, appears bound for La Liga side, Atlético Madrid, after the two clubs agreed a £39m deal in principle last month, although final confirmation of the 25-year-old's exit awaits.
The club had already begun to make inroads into the transfer market after it was, on the whole, accepted that Edwards would be given the chance to conduct a first-time promotion bid in the second tier - a situation which he'd only left behind at Middlesbrough to rejoin Wolves eight months ago.
Indeed, following intense speculation, the 43-year-old saw former England international, Kieran Trippier's pre-contract agreement confirmed, as well as giving personal insight into the meetings between the duo ahead of the deal being wrapped up.
After months of very little positivity, this was backed up by a reunion with Mexican cult hero, Raul Jimenez, before it was revealed that Gil Vicente head coach, Cesar Peixoto, is poised to replace Edwards, although the effect this has on the two aforementioned deals appears to be extremely contrasting.
As such, Peixoto and owners, Fosun, will have a strong task when it comes to getting everyone associated with Wolves on side, and another reunion could potentially do just that, as well as aid the Portuguese's philosophy.

Like Wolves, West Ham United have had many big decisions to make, and two of those were the upcoming releases of Lukas Fabianski and Spanish winger, Adama Traoré, at the London Stadium.
Traore had struggled for gametime with his prior employers, Fulham, in the early stages of last season, and was able to reunite with his former Wolves boss, Nuno Espírito Santo, in a deal which could have risen as high as £2m on a six-month contract.
Despite the low cost of said deal in comparison to many in the modern game, it was one which failed to pay off for the Hammers and the 30-year-old, having made just four starts in nine overall appearances, whilst also missing the final three games of the season.
Therefore, whilst Nuno could still lose fellow right winger and club captain, Jarrod Bowen, amid interest from Everton and Tottenham Hotspur, Traore will not be sticking around in the Championship from June 30th, or at least with the Irons.
As such, his services could be courted by many on a free transfer, including his former employers, who could repeat the trick of their reunion with Jimenez, who has now played with the eight-time Spain international at both Molineux and Craven Cottage.

Although, of course, being unproven in the Championship, Peixoto is known for adopting a 4-2-3-1 system in his managerial career, which could help get the best out of Traore and those around him, if it was an avenue Wolves were to explore in the transfer market.
Potentially, this means you could be looking at a front four of the Spaniard, the highly-rated Mateus Mane, Rodrigo Gomes - who has claimed he would love to help the club back to the top-flight - and Jimenez, which is a mouth-watering prospect.
Traore is best known for his speed and unpredictability, which could cause havoc in the second tier, and previously did with Middlesbrough under Garry Monk and Tony Pulis, scoring four times and posting 10 assists in just 34 appearances in 2017/18, before Wolves secured his services for £18m.
The winger naturally blew hot and cold at Molineux in the top flight with 34 goal contributions in 194 games, but this could be a reunion that, again, benefits all involved and helps lift the mood in an uncertain period.
