Wolverhampton Wanderers are weighing up a summer move for Yacine Titraoui, with the club closely monitoring the Algerian midfielder’s situation.

According to reports from Africa Foot, Wolves have shown concrete interest in the 22-year-old, who is currently under contract with Royal Charleroi SC until June 2027.

Titraoui’s impressive performances in the Belgian Pro League have caught the eye, putting Wolves firmly in the frame as they look to bolster their midfield options.

He can comfortably deputise or replace Andre and Joao Gomes.

However, the deal is not straightforward. While Wolves are understood to have explored the parameters of a transfer, Titraoui and his representatives are yet to give full approval.

Any move to Molineux appears dependent on the club remaining in the Premier League.

Should the West Midlands club suffer relegation to the Championship, the midfielder would reportedly favour a top-flight project elsewhere.

That places additional pressure on Wolves as they battle to secure their Premier League future.

From a Wolves perspective, recruitment plans, including a potential deal for Titraoui, hinge heavily on survival.

Meanwhile, Charleroi are driving a hard bargain. The Belgian side wants a minimum of €8 million to sanction a sale.

The Premier League side will need to meet that valuation to stand a serious chance of bringing Titraoui to Molineux.

There is also a financial issue. Charleroi must pay 25% of any future sale fee to Paradou AC, Titraoui’s former club.

That sell-on clause partly explains why Wolves face a steep asking price.

With several other Premier League clubs also circling, Wolves may need to move decisively to win the race.

For Wolves supporters, this is one to watch closely, but everything hinges on the league status and their ambition heading into the summer.

The Old Gold are currently at the bottom of the Premier League table and 17 points away from safety.

It is hard to envisage anything but a drop back down to the second division.
