Sean Neave has attracted plenty of interest from EFL sides late in the window

Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly eyeing a late-window loan swoop for the services of Newcastle United's highly-rated striker, Sean Neave.

That is according to Keith Downie of Sky Sports, with the Old Gold and Black looking to make the desired changes to Cesar Peixoto's squad ahead of Tuesday's 11PM transfer deadline.

The deadline, of course, does coincide with the West Midlands outfit's clash with West Ham United, but there continues to be plenty of speculation swirling around Molineux.

And despite the fact his side have already scored nine goals in their opening three Championship matches, Peixoto appears to be keen on adding further quality to his attacking department, whilst an experienced figure could be set to depart it.

Neave, 19, has risen through the Magpies' academy ranks and into the first-team fold during Eddie Howe's time in charge at St James' Park, but is set for the first loan spell of his career, which will be sanctioned by the newly-appointed Mathias Jaissle.

The striker has only made two senior appearances for the North East side, with his debut coming in a 6-1 rout over FK Qarabag in the UEFA Champions League last February, whilst also featuring in the 2-0 loss at Fulham on the final day of the Premier League season.

Neave also won an EFL Cup winners' medal in 2025 despite not playing a single minute, and after Downie initially reported that the forward's most-likely destination would be to a League One outfit, Wolves are now leading the race, as they are said to be the most advanced in negotiations.

Despite finding first-team opportunities hard to come by behind the likes of Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa, Neave will eventually hope to translate his impressive record at youth level in his first prolonged spell of senior minutes.

As well as playing six times in the EFL Trophy, the highly-rated prospect has netted 33 times in the U18 Premier League and Premier League 2 combined, whilst also scoring twice in 10 UEFA Youth League appearances.

As such, it perhaps isn't the greatest of surprises that many EFL sides have been alerted to his availability.

Whilst Hee-Chan Hwang is expected to leave Wolves in the coming hours, the addition of Neave would only further bolster an electric frontline for Peixoto, which has a nice blend of youthful energy and experience.

Raul Jimenez has already been among the goals since his return from Fulham, but 22-year-old Fer Lopez has caught the eye in particular with four goal contributions already this season, and Neave would certainly be excited about the prospect of linking up with the Spaniard and Mateus Mane, who has also impressed.
