Wolves have completed the free-transfer signing of Kieran Trippier on a two-year contract, with an option for a further year. The move launches an ambitious squad rebuild aimed at an immediate Premier League return.
Club chairman Nathan Shi said the 54-cap England international arrives with elite quality and leadership, and that his experience in the Premier League, Champions League and on the international stage will be invaluable. He added that Trippier’s professionalism, character and standards reflect the club’s ambition in the Championship.
Wolves want business done early so recruits are in place for pre-season, and view securing Trippier at the start of the window as important. The plan is for him to report on day one of pre-season.
Trippier joins after a successful four-year spell at Newcastle, leaving the Magpies when his contract expired.
After extending Andre’s deal and landing Trippier, Wolves are also closing in on re-signing Raul Jimenez. The club trust Rob Edwards to lead the push back to the top flight.
