Wolves sign Manchester City defender O’Hanlon | OneFootball

Wolverhampton Wanderers have completed the signing of Manchester City defender Tara O’Hanlon on a permanent deal.

Wolves announced news of the transfer via a post on their official club website this morning.

The 21-year-old full-back joins Wolves off the back of a two-and-a-half-year spell with Manchester City. O’Hanlon joined The Cityzens from SSE Airtricity League Women’s Premier Division club Peamount United in the January 2024 transfer window. The defender continued her development during her time at The Joie Stadium, although first team minutes were not forthcoming.

O’Hanlon spent last season out on loan at Barclays WSL2 club Sunderland and SWPL side Celtic. Those loan moves allowed the player to get some vital minutes under her belt at senior level.

On the international stage, O’Hanlon has been capped by the Republic of Ireland on three occasions. She was also previously a regular in her nation’s youth sides.

O’Hanlon is Wolves’ 11th signing of the summer transfer window. The player will now link-up with her new club to complete the final pre-season preparations ahead of the new Barclays WSL2 campaign. Wolves have added plenty of quality to their ranks over the summer in a bid to compete strongly in the second tier this season.
