Wolves’ defeat at Liverpool, despite a second-half display that might have earned something, has been compounded by suspension, with Andre ruled out of Tuesday’s trip to Old Trafford. According to Molineux.news, his absence comes as injuries and AFCON commitments stretch Rob Edwards’ options.
2025 has not been kind to Wolves and the final match of the calendar year is next. A few weeks ago, they were overrun after the break in a 4-1 reverse. Joao Gomes missed that game.
Jean-Ricner Bellegarde and Marshall Munetsi are sidelined, leaving midfield short. At the back, Toti Gomes is injured and Emmanuel Agbadou is away at AFCON.
Andre’s fifth yellow card of the season removes him from contention on Tuesday. With options thin in midfield and defence, Edwards faces a balancing act. Ladislav Krejci is the only realistic partner for Joao Gomes in midfield, yet he may also be required in defence.
Yerson Mosquera’s fitness is unclear after he was withdrawn on 79 minutes with what appeared to be an injury. Hopefully it is nothing serious and he can make a quick turnaround. If he is fit, a back three of Mosquera, Santiago Bueno and Matt Doherty seems the most plausible, with Krejci stepping into midfield.
