Wolves said in a statement they will carry out inspections and repairs after a supporter was hit by falling metal at Molineux.

The incident occurred during Saturday's 1-1 Premier League draw with Sunderland, when part of the South Bank was cleared after metal fell from a PA system under the roof.

The object struck a supporter, who was treated inside the ground for minor injuries and did not need hospital care.

Around 200 fans were moved at half-time as a precaution, leaving a visible gap in the stand for the rest of the match.

A fixing from a speaker on the roof of the Sir Jack Hayward Stand became dislodged and made contact with the supporter. The safety team and on-site medics responded immediately, and the individual later returned home.
