Wolves and Aston Villa feature in fresh transfer rumours, with links to Hibernian midfielder Josh Mulligan and Newcastle United striker Nick Woltemade.

TeamTALK reports that Wolves are set to challenge Southampton and West Ham United for Mulligan. The 23-year-old scored three and provided five in 33 appearances for Hibernian in all competitions last season.

Wolves and West Ham have made initial enquiries, according to the report, and Hibernian are in a strong position with three years remaining on Mulligan’s contract.

AS says Villa are interested in Woltemade and could meet Newcastle’s price, which is said to be around £56.4 million. Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund are monitoring his situation after a difficult debut Premier League campaign.

The Germany international, currently at the World Cup, cost Newcastle £69 million from VfB Stuttgart last summer. He scored eight goals and set up three in 33 Premier League appearances.
