Wolves return to Molineux on Wednesday night for a critical relegation six-pointer against Nottingham Forest.
The hosts are still searching for their first Premier League win of the season. Rob Edwards’ side remains rooted to the bottom of the table with just two points from 13 games. Meanwhile, they face a Nottingham Forest team that saw their three-match winning streak snapped by a 2-0 home loss to Brighton at the weekend.
Rob Edwards is expected to keep faith with the attacking unit that showed promise against Aston Villa. Striker Jørgen Strand Larsen will lead the line, supported by Jean-Ricner Bellegarde and Jhon Arias. However, goalkeeper Daniel Bentley remains out with an ankle injury, while Matt Doherty and Rodrigo Gomes are also sidelined. Yerson Mosquera could be recalled to bolster the defence as Wolves search for a clean sheet.
Sean Dyche is hopeful that talisman Morgan Gibbs-White will be fit to face his former club despite a back issue. There is significant concern over defender Murillo, who remains a major doubt with a hamstring problem. Morato is on standby to partner Nikola Milenković. Furthermore, Chris Wood, Douglas Luiz, and Oleksandr Zinchenko are not expected to return until later in the month.
Wolves are enduring a nightmare campaign, sitting 20th and nine points from safety. Despite the change in manager, results remain poor, with back-to-back defeats under Edwards. They have lost their last six Premier League matches consecutively and have failed to score in their last four league outings. However, they took encouragement from a battling display at Villa Park last time out.
Forest sit 16th with 12 points but have shown flashes of brilliance under Dyche. Before the weekend’s stumble against Brighton, they had won three on the bounce in all competitions, including a famous 3-0 victory at Liverpool. Crucially, they have been solid on their travels recently, keeping consecutive away clean sheets.
Wolves predicted XI: Johnstone; Tchatchoua, Mosquera, Agbadou, T Gomes; Andre, G Gomes; Arias, Bellegarde, Moller Wolfe; Strand Larsen
Nottingham Forest predicted XI: Sels; Savona, Milenkovic, Morato, Williams; Sangare, Anderson; Hutchinson, Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi; Jesus
The match will be broadcast live in the UK on Amazon Prime Video. Coverage starts at 7:00 pm GMT.
