Cesar Peixoto's Wolves are sharpening wide play in Portugal, assessing flank options ahead of the new season.
According to ExpressAndStar.com, the summer arrival is installing patterns with a squad still needing work in the window. Sessions have focused on width and attacking phases, and more wide recruits may be explored.
New £7.7million winger Rafiki Said, 26, has mainly worked from the left, going inside or to the byline with pace. After a quiet Tuesday morning he sparkled on Wednesday, scoring with his left then hitting the post with his right. Two-footed, he could be dangerous in 2026/27, though his English needs work.
Mateus Mane has looked sharp on either flank or as a number 10, appearing stronger after adding muscle. The 18-year-old has impressed and could be an asset if Wolves keep him. With a back four likely, Rodrigo Gomes has been used higher, often from the right, and must sharpen decisions.
Fer Lopez can play wide but has frequently been tried as a 10. The 22-year-old, loaned to Celta Vigo last term, looks happier, and it is understood Peixoto is prepared to use him in the Championship, where his technique could trouble opponents if he handles the physical test.
Tom Edozie, who scored a late Premier League equaliser against Arsenal in February, has made a solid start and is taking on defenders and delivering early. Enso Gonzalez, 21, is back after a serious knee injury in 2024, showing pace but some hesitancy, and may need a loan for minutes.
