Wolves winger Rafiki Said sidelined by MCL knee injury | OneFootball

Wolves winger Rafiki Said will be sidelined for at least two months after suffering a knee injury in pre-season, ruling him out of the start of the campaign.

ExpressAndStar.com reports that the £7.7 million signing was forced off after 20 minutes of his second friendly on the trip to Maidenhead with a high-grade medial collateral ligament injury.

The problem occurred when a blocked shot placed heavy strain on the inside of his knee. He will wear a brace for about six weeks and receive injections to aid healing, with work limited to gym and strength sessions.

Once the brace is removed, he will need a few more weeks to build back into training, so he will miss the first part of the season.

Jean-Ricner Bellegarde faces a number of weeks out after a hamstring injury in training. The midfielder returned last week after representing Haiti in the World Cup, and felt the issue during a weekend session.

Fer Lopez, who missed the Maidenhead and Real Sociedad friendlies with a minor groin problem, has trained this week and should be available for the final two friendlies of the summer. Adam Armstrong should continue to be available after a recent calf knock.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Sam Johnstone has stepped up his recovery following shoulder surgery towards the end of last season.
