Wolves will aim to put further distance between themselves and the relegation places at bottom-of-the-table Southampton today.
Vitor Pereira’s team are six points clear of the drop zone, heading into a crucial clash at St Mary’s. Wolves battled to a point at Everton last time out and have taken seven points from their last five Premier League games. The steady improvement has seen them open up a cushion to the bottom three – though Pereira will be far from satisfied.
Southampton head into the clash rooted to the bottom. The Saints have just nine points, still less than the record-low of 11 set by Derby County’s 2007/08 side. However, Ivan Juric’s side showed spirit in defeat at Liverpool last weekend and will hope to kick on from that display against the leaders.
Vitor Pereira is again without talisman Matheus Cunha. The Brazilian is banned following his red card against Bournemouth in the FA Cup. It’s a huge blow to Wolves, with Cunha the club’s top scorer with 13 league goals. Only Jorgen Strand Larsen (7) has scored more than three league goals in the rest of the squad.
Winter signing Marshall Munetsi is set to shake off an issue that forced him off at half-time against Everton. The Zimbabwean had scored his first Wolves goal before his withdrawl.
The Old Gold remain without Sasa Kalajdzic, Yerson Mosquera, Leon Chiwone, and Enso Gonzalez.
Wolves predicted XI: Sa; Semedo, Doherty, Toti, Agbadou, Ait-Nouri; Andre, Gomes; Munetsi, Bellegarde; Larsen.
Southampton host Wolves in the Premier League on Saturday 15th March 2025. Kick-off in the contest is 15:00 GMT.
The fixture will not be broadcast live to a UK audience.
