The UEFA Women's Nation League returned this evening with some huge matches across all three sections.
Here's how all of the action unfolded...
Scorers: Wullaert 4’, 29’, Vanhaevermaet 16’, Mead 35’, Agyemang 81'
England were left stunned in Belgium as they found themselves three goals down after 30 minutes following efforts from Tessa Wullaert and Justine Vanhaevermaet.
Beth Mead won and converted a penalty before the break to reduce the deficit, and despite a fantastic late goal from 19-year-old debutant Michelle Agyemang, Sarina Wiegman’s side were unable to complete the comeback.
Scorers: Paralleulo 2’, Bonmati 8’, 12’, Putellas 28’, 51’, Caldentey 47’, González 60’, Fonesca 71'
Spain dismantled Portugal in Vigo with a ruthless display, as Barcelona’s Salma Paralluelo opened the scoring inside two minutes and was joined on the scoresheet by Aitana Bonmatí, Alexia Putellas, Mariona Caldentey and Esther González.
It was a dazzling night for the hosts, but one to forget for the visitors, who had a disappointing response to Spain’s seven-goal onslaught with only a late consolation.
Scorers: Cerci 51', 56' 76', Hoffmann 64', 65', Freigang 67'; Weir 41'
Germany came from behind to secure a significant 6-1 win over Scotland in Wolfsburg.
Despite Scotland taking a shock lead into the break through Caroline Weir, Germany turned the game around in the second half with a hat-trick from Selina Cerci and goals from Giovanna Hoffmann and Laura Freigang.
Scorers: Barrett 9’, Patten 50', Sarri 72'
In group B2, the Republic of Ireland secured a marginal 2-1 win against Greece to maintain their place in second.
Amber Barrett gave the hosts the lead from the penalty spot within the first 10 minutes in Dublin, and Anna Patten added a second with a header from one of Megan Campbell's corners, though there was a late scare as Veatriki Sarri pulled one back for Greece.
Scorers: Weir 8’
Northern Ireland edged a narrow 1-0 win over Romania at Windsor Park in Belfast to remain second in their group.
After drawing with the same opponent last week, they took the lead this time through Kascie Weir and held on to claim a crucial three points in their group.
Scorers: Eriksson 60’, Cain 68’
After a disappointing defeat against Denmark last time out, Wales secured a hard-fought 1-1 draw away in Sweden.
Following a goalless first half, the hosts took the lead through defender Magdalena Eriksson, but Leicester City forward Hannah Cain was on hand to score the all-important equaliser less than 10 minutes later.
Scorers: Baltimore 76', Matéo 85'
France secured a 2-0 win over Norway in Oslo with late goals from Sandy Baltimore and Clara Matéo deciding the game.
France dominated possession throughout and created the better chances, which eventually paid off as Grace Geyoro picked out Baltimore to fire home the first, with Matéo later adding a second.
Scorers: Hickelsberger 9’; Kaptein 10’, Van de Donk 57’, Miedema 69’
A dramatic game in Austria began with the hosts taking the lead inside the opening 10 minutes through Julia Hickelsberger, but the Netherlands responded almost immediately courtesy of Chelsea’s Wieke Kaptein.
Daniëlle van de Donk then put the visitors ahead early in the second half and substitute Vivianne Miedema put the result beyond doubt with 20 minutes left to play.
Scorers: Caruso 59’, Di Guglielmo 79', Girelli 86'
Following Denmark’s dramatic win over Wales last week, Tuesday’s meeting with Italy was a much quieter affair in the first half.
It took until almost the hour mark, but it was Italy who finally broke the deadlock as Arianna Caruso rounded off a fantastic move with a right-footed effort into the back of the net before Lucia Di Guglielmo and Cristiana Girelli sealed the win late on.
