Season to start on Saturday

It's all starting again! To kick off the new ADMIRAL Women's Bundesliga season, SpG Südburgenland/TSV Hartberg will be visiting the Red Bull Football Academy, where – as in the previous season – all matches can be attended free of charge. Kick-off is on Saturday at 14:30 CEST.

With their usual ambitions and some new faces, our FC Red Bull Salzburg Women, led by captain Katja Wienerroither, are heading into their new campaign with confidence. In addition to the already announced new signings, Lena Triendl is joining us. The Tyrolean native won the double last season with FK Austria Vienna, providing twelve goal contributions in domestic football.

Our team were drawn to face SV Telfs in the ÖFB Women's Cup on the first weekend of September. Before that, however, the first league matches are on the agenda. Lilla Sipos, the star player of the past Bundesliga season, has left Burgenland for Sturm Graz – a setback for the bottom-placed team in the 2025/26 season, who only remained in the Austrian top flight due to severe financial difficulties at Neulengbach.

Dusan Pavlovic's team is aiming to add another chapter to their success story after last season's achievements – qualifying for the Championship Group and reaching the Cup Final. The upcoming match against the combined team is a welcome opportunity as we scored more goals against them than any other opponents in 2025/26 (with a 5-2 and 4-2 win). The match will be broadcast on both ÖFB TV and Laola1, the new media partner of the ADMIRAL Women's Bundesliga. Florian Grabner will referee the clash.

I'm satisfied with the pre-season, as the team worked very hard. We've integrated several young and new players who have quickly adapted to our level. For the season opener, we want to consistently implement our principles on the pitch and play with courage and intensity. Our goal is to improve every week and take the next step in our team's development.
