The developers of Football Manager 26 have confirmed that the Women’s Super League and WSL 2 will both debut in the upcoming game.
Women’s football has been planned to be introduced in the game for several years.
Originally, it was set to debut in FM25, before the developers cancelled the game after two delays.
Earlier this week, it was revealed that 14 leagues would be included in the game.
More details surrounding women’s football in FM26 has now been released, naming the 14 leagues that are in the game, and also revealing that the women’s database will consist of over 41,000 players.

The Women’s Super League and the US-based National Women’s Soccer League are among the headline divisions to be involved in Football Manager 26.
England, Spain and Sweden are the only countries that will feature the top two divisions from their country.
It has also been confirmed that the Women’s Champions League will be present in the game. However, there is no mention of the Women’s Europa Cup, which is making its debut this season.
Those starting new saves on Football Manager 26, will be able to select whether to have games featuring men’s football, women’s football, or both.
In a video hosted by presenter Kelly Somers, it was revealed that women’s football will be realistic in terms of shorter deals, fewer release clauses and injuries based on real-world player data.
Attributes are given the same 1-20 ratings as with the players in the men’s game. Somers said: “A striker in the women’s game with a 20 for finishing is rated on the same scale as a men’s striker, just measured within their own competitive context.”
The look of games will also more reflect women’s football, after FM26 developers did motion capture sessions with real women’s footballers to understand the characteristics of how women move on the pitch.
Somers concluded: “This has been years in the making. Built from the ground up, a promise made in 2021, delivered in FM26.
“And this is just the start. The database will expand, the experience will deepen and the game will keep evolving.”
Football Manager 26 will be released on PC, Xbox, PlayStation 5 and mobile devices on Tuesday, November 4th, 2025.
The PC version of the game is already available to pre-order online.
