Women’s transfer window sets record as France and Spain remain open | OneFootball

Women’s football has posted a record-breaking summer transfer window, with spending and activity hitting new highs even as some markets remain open.

FIFA said on Thursday that spending had climbed to nearly €25m, more than double the 2025 window, and that it logged 1,406 international transfers, up 19.2% on the previous record.

In France and Spain the window runs until 18 September, Germany has already closed, and in England it ends this Thursday.

The total remains modest next to the €10bn outlay in the men’s game this summer, including €4bn in the Premier League, but it marks meaningful growth.

Notable moves include Alexia Putellas, the two-time Ballon d’Or winner, leaving Barcelona to join London City Lionesses, the club owned by OL president Michele Kang and dedicated solely to the women’s game. France forward Kadidiatou Diani has also signed for the English side.
