Saturday was another interesting day of Women’s World Cup action where goals were scored and history was made.

Here’s what went down …

In the day’s early kick-off, the Netherlands booked their spot in the last 16 with a 3-1 win over Cameroon in Valenciennes.

Arsenal forward Vivianne Miedema became the European champions’ all-time leading goalscorer when she netted her 59th and 60th international strikes, surpassing the record previously held by Manon Melis.

Not bad for a 22-year-old with just 77 caps to her name so far!

And in the evening game, Canada also sealed their passage to the last 16 with a 2-0 victory over New Zealand.

Jessie Fleming and Nichelle Prince both got on the scoresheet in Grenoble to leave the Canadians level on points with the Netherlands but behind on goal difference.
