Mateus Fernandes retains top spot in this week’s Wonderkid Power Rankings, Michael Kayode is second and Nico O’Reilly third.

Sunderland Echo notes that Estêvão Willian is on compassionate leave and Patrick Dorgu is sidelined with a serious ankle injury. That opens spots for a re-entry and a first appearance of 2025/26.

Kayode’s rise follows a steady outing against Aston Villa and he benefits from off weeks for last week’s top five. Fernandes was solid rather than spectacular against Chelsea, but his form remains consistent. O’Reilly impressed again on the ball, though one-on-one defending still exposes him.

Newcastle’s Lewis Hall slips one, blameless for Liverpool’s four but too eager to block Vitinha’s opener against PSG. Lewis Miley drops two after conceding a first-minute penalty that was missed, then benched against Liverpool.

Eli Kroupi Junior returns with a superb strike for Bournemouth, a fine first touch and a dipping finish from the edge of the box. Álex Jiménez toiled at right wing against Wolves, better tracking back than in the final third. Mateus Mané was arguably Wolves’ best in a 2-0 defeat at Bournemouth, drawing four fouls and using the ball well.

Kobbie Mainoo finally debuts at nine, looking rejuvenated under Michael Carrick with an assist against Arsenal and a dynamic display at Fulham, marked by better pressing and line-breaking passes. Abdulkodir Khusanov slips one, mixing strong work versus Galatasaray and Tottenham with a lapse when a darting Dominic Solanke run led to Spurs’ first goal.
