FIFA confirmed the 2026 World Cup schedule on Saturday. Argentina, the reigning champions, are in Group J with Algeria, Austria and Jordan, with kick-off times and venues for their first three fixtures set, in a tournament featuring a round of 32.

They face Algeria on 16 June at 22:00 Argentina time at the Kansas City Stadium. Austria follow on 22 June at 14:00 in the Dallas Stadium, before Jordan on 27 June at 23:00, also in Dallas.

If Argentina top Group J, they would meet the Group H runners-up, from Spain, Cape Verde, Saudi Arabia or Uruguay, in the round of 32 on 3 July at the Miami Stadium.

Progress could bring a last 16 tie on 7 July in Atlanta. A quarter-final might be against Portugal on 11 July in Kansas City, followed by a possible semi-final on 15 July in Atlanta. The final is set for 19 July at 15:00 in New York.

Should they finish second, the round of 32 opponent would be the Group H winners on 2 July in Los Angeles.

A last 16 match on that path would be on 6 July in Dallas. Quarter-finals would be on 10 July in Los Angeles, then a semi-final on 14 July in Dallas, in a bracket with Germany, France and the Netherlands.

Scaloni warned there are no easy opponents after the last World Cup lesson, and said Argentina must treat every game like the last, adding that even a 13:00 kick-off and heat are no excuse.
