No further changes can be made for remainder of tournament

The World Cup 2026 is fast approaching the end, and the eight teams that remain will be hopeful of a clean bill of health for the remainder of the knockout phase.

England and Belgium, however, have not been so lucky with Jordan Henderson and Amadou Onana seeing their tournaments come to a premature end during the last-16.

Onana ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee during Belgium’s 4-1 win over United States, while Henderson suffered a freak injury in the aftermath of England’s 3-2 win against Mexico and had to undergo surgery.

As per FIFA ruling, both England and Belgium will be forced to continue with a 25-man squad as the final deadline to officially name a replacement was up to 24 hours before a nation's opening group match.
