After the confirmed withdrawals of Choupo-Moting and Franck Zambo Anguissa, André Onana is now a doubt for the Cameroon vs DR Congo showdown. This match is part of the 2026 World Cup playoffs.

Ahead of Thursday's African playoff semi-finals for the 2026 World Cup against DR Congo in Rabat, Morocco, the Cameroon Football Federation released a concerning medical update on Tuesday evening. Lions' goalkeeper André Onana is uncertain to face the Leopards. The former Inter Milan shot-stopper is suffering from an ankle issue and has been placed under observation "to assess the condition of his somewhat sore ankle."

On the other hand, Choupo-Moting, who suffered a sprain, and Anguissa, sidelined with a leg injury, have already been ruled out. The MLS striker underwent an MRI that confirmed a knee sprain. As for Anguissa, one of the last to join the squad, he was forced to cut Tuesday’s session short due to a muscle strain.
