Paulo Duarte calls up Guirassy, Sylla and three newcomers for the qualifiers
Syli National - Guinée
Head coach Paulo Duarte unveiled this Friday, September 26 in Conakry, the list of players selected to face Mozambique in Maputo on October 9, followed by Botswana in Casablanca on October 14. The Syli National head into these two fixtures with a squad blending established stalwarts and fresh faces.
Paulo Duarte has summoned 25 players for the 9th and 10th rounds of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. He has kept the core of his lineup, including Serhou Guirassy, Mouctar Diakhaby, Morlaye Sylla, and Issiaga Sylla. Three players are making their national team debut: Abdoul Karim Traoré (OH Louvain), Lamine Diaby-Fadiga (Rakow Czestochowa), and Jocelyn Janneh (SC Bastia).
The Syli National will kick off their double-header on October 9 at Estádio Nacional do Zimpeto in Maputo against Mozambique. Five days later, Guinea will take on Botswana at Stade Mohamed V in Casablanca, with the match relocated due to the unavailability of approved stadiums in Conakry.
