World Cup 2026 (Q): Spain humiliates Turkey (6-0)
La Roja sent a resounding message to their World Cup 2026 rivals. Traveling to Istanbul, Spain claimed an authoritative 6-0 victory over Turkey.
From the very start, Luis de la Fuente’s men set the tempo. Pedri broke the deadlock in the 6th minute, before the relentless Mikel Merino bagged a first-half brace (22’, 45’+1). By halftime, Spain was already leading 3-0 and Turkey had run out of answers.
The second half turned into a masterclass. Ferran Torres piled on another (53’), Merino completed his hat-trick just minutes later (57’), and Pedri, once again, capped off the display (62’).
With this emphatic win, Spain racks up a fourth consecutive victory in these qualifiers, dazzling with both their collective play and the efficiency of their young talents.
