The Ivorian national team may soon be able to count on a new dual-national gem, starting from the next international break, scheduled for october.

Currently topping Group F, the reigning African champions will look to secure their ticket to the 2026 World Cup by winning their next two games against Seychelles and Kenya.

The latest target for the Elephants is none other than Abdoul Ouattara, the young winger from RC Strasbourg. Here are 5 things you should know about him:

He joined the youth academy of the Alsatian club in 2018 after an initial stint with FC Niederschaeffolsheim.

He was promoted to the first team last January and has taken part in 27 matches, scoring 2 goals and providing a single assist.

He has scored just one goal in matches played so far in the 2025-2026 season.
He is under contract with RC Strasbourg until 2029, with a market value estimated at €1.2 million.
A versatile player, he can feature on both flanks as well as in the playmaker role.
