In a lively Alphonse Massambat-Débat Stadium, the Congolese, still in search of their first victory, dominated for much of the match. After a goalless first half, the hosts broke the deadlock in the 68th minute through Dechan Moussavou, the 19-year-old forward from AC Léopards.

But Tanzania, the current runners-up in the group, refused to give in. Substitute Selemani Mwalimu, also 19, found the equalizer in the dying minutes, dashing the hopes of the Congolese fans. Congo had a golden opportunity to reclaim the lead late on, but Mignon Koto squandered his chance.

In the standings, Tanzania remain second with 10 points from 6 matches, well behind leaders Morocco (15 points from 5 games). Congo, meanwhile, stay bottom of the group with just one point.
