Not fielded against Liberia (3-0), Ali Abdi (36 caps, 4 goals) will also miss the match against Equatorial Guinea.
The Tunisian full-back is suffering from a pelvic injury that will prevent him from traveling with the rest of his teammates to Malabo.
The 31-year-old will return to his club, OGC Nice, to recover from his injury. The Carthage Eagles' coach, Sami Trabelsi, is expected to field Morthada Ben Ouanes on the left side of defense again.
As a reminder, Tunisia currently tops Group H with 19 points, seven ahead of their closest rivals, Namibia. Ferjani Sassi and his teammates could secure qualification as early as the next match in Malabo.
Tunisia is now closer than ever to a seventh appearance in the World Cup finals.
