Sweden was drawn against Ukraine for the World Cup playoff semi-final scheduled for March 26, with Ukraine designated as the "home" side. However, due to the ongoing instability caused by the Russian invasion, the match will not take place in Ukraine. Speaking to Ukrainian television channel UPL TV, coach Serhiy Rebrov made his position clear:

We do not want to be constantly traveling from one place to another. Both home matches must be played in the same location.

Ukraine has already played its "home" fixtures outside its territory during the qualifiers, but this time, Poland is not being considered as an option. The exact venue for the matches will be announced soon. The semi-final will take place on March 26 and the final on March 31.
