Canada’s 2-1 defeat by Switzerland on Wednesday cost the World Cup co-host a home round of 32 tie in Vancouver, surrendering top spot in Group B.

L'Équipe notes that Canada will instead play in Los Angeles on Sunday at 21:00 French time, against the Group A runners-up to be confirmed overnight.

Canada opened their campaign in Toronto with a 1-1 draw against Bosnia and Herzegovina, then thrashed Qatar 6-0 in Vancouver before losing to Switzerland at the same venue.

Switzerland had played their first two matches in California but will not return there for their own round of 32.

That tie is scheduled four days later, in the night of 2 to 3 July, at 05:00 French time.

Canada are co-hosting the tournament with Mexico and the United States.
