GK: Emiliano Martínez

A very close call and while the Argentina shot-stopper may have conceded many more this tournament, on his day the Aston Villa man is a true game-changer, particularly where penalties are concerned.

RB: Pedro Porro

The Tottenham defender has been excellent in this tournament both in a defensive and attacking sense and grabbed some well-earned limelight for himself in the semi-final win over France with the clinching goal.

CB: Pau Cubarsí

The teenager is one of only two outfield players of any representative in the final to play every minute of action for his side and it isn't hard to see why with the assured quality of someone with much more experience.

CB: Cristian Romero

What an eventful summer the Tottenham man has had. The typical tigerish performances and big blocks have been complimented by a memorable extra-winner against Cabo Verde and a war of words with Gary Neville this week. All in a tournament's work.

LB: Marc Cucurella

Along with Cubarsí, he is the only other outfield player to play all 630 minutes of Spain's tournament so far and has shocked everyone in the build-up by claiming that at the age of 27, he'll retire from international football if La Roja are successful on Sunday. What a loss he'd be!

CM: Enzo Fernández

Young Player of the Tournament when Argentina lifted the trophy last time, he has came of age brilliantly almost four years on to show that the big prize may not be beyond him someday. Rescued his side with a sweet strike against England when things seemed to be slipping away.

CM: Rodri

In typically understated fashion, the Manchester City man has dominated. With 794, he has the most touches of any player this summer and completed the most line-breaking passes (104), while his 655 successful passes are the most of any player in World Cup history in a single edition - and he isn't done yet!

CM: Alexis Mac Allister

Particularly in the knockout stages, Mac Allister has really came to the fore and although Spain have some strong competition in this area (as well as Leandro Paredes and Rodrigo De Paul) from his own team-mates, he narrowly gets the nod for coming alive when it counted.

RW: Lamine Yamal

Who else was going to take this berth? He has a 100% record in every World Cup or European Championship game he has started and has been a constant attacking threat for Spain, who will be hopeful he becomes just the third teenager ever to score in a World Cup final - following in the footsteps of Pelé and Kylian Mbappé.

ST: Lionel Messi

Reminder that this man turned 39 last month and he still has the world at his feet. An incredible eight goals and four assists for Argentina this summer show that he is still one of the best in the game and retains his hunger for a second world title. Has he cemented his GOAT status?

LW: Julián Álvarez

A much trickier pick in this area. Nico Williams is struggling with fitness issues and with Álvarez having played in this area throughout the competition, we're giving the Atleti ace the nod.
