With the decisive clash against Somalia looming, scheduled for October 9 at the Miloud-Hadefi Stadium in Oran as part of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) is ramping up its efforts. On Tuesday, the federation’s secretary general, Nadir Bouznad, led an official delegation to the western capital to finalize the last organizational details. Welcomed by the wali of Oran, Samir Chibani, officials held a coordination meeting at the wilaya headquarters, attended by local authorities and representatives of the relevant sectors. The goal is clear: ensure a flawless organization of this eagerly awaited fixture for an entire nation.

Inspection of facilities and full mobilization

After this working session, the delegation conducted an inspection visit to the Miloud-Hadefi Stadium to ensure the facilities meet FIFA's required standards. Accompanied by Oran’s director of youth and sports, Adel Tejar, the officials also reviewed several hotels designated to host the national team and invited delegations. At the end of the visit, Nadir Bouznad expressed his satisfaction with the progress of preparations and commended the commitment of local authorities to provide the best possible conditions. This match against Somalia, crucial for securing a place at the 2026 World Cup, is a real-life test for Algerian organization, determined to meet supporters’ expectations and honor the country’s image on the international stage.
