After the longest group stage in history, we finally know the full slate of FIFA World Cup fixtures for the round of 32.
England’s reward for topping Group L is a trip to Atlanta to face DR Congo, who finished as one of the eight best third-placed teams in their first appearance in the competition.
Reigning champions Argentina have been handed a very kind route to the semi-finals after they were paired with Cape Verde, who emerged from their group undefeated. The winner of that tie will face either Australia or Egypt in the round of 16.
2022 finalists France will take on Sweden, the victor of which will face Germany or Paraguay in the next round.
There are a number of intriguing ties involving some of the tournament’s dark horses, including Brazil versus Japan, Ivory Coast versus Norway, and Netherlands versus Morocco.
In terms of the co-hosts, the United States entertain Bosnia and Herzegovina in Santa Clara, Mexico welcome Ecuador to their capital, while Canada travel to Los Angeles to face South Africa, both of whom are playing a knockout match for the first time ever.
Who do you think will go all the way in the 2026 World Cup? Let us know in the comments below!
