L’Equipe are reporting that PSG academy defender Emmanuel Mbemba has rejected a contract offer from teh club and will sign with Monaco in the coming days.

The talented left footed defender has been a star through the academy system, but now will look to forge a new path with a Monaco team who are very good at giving young players minutes.

Interest from the likes of Arsenal and Bayer Leverkusen was reported, but Mbemba has clearly decided to stay in his native France to continue his development.

Mbemba the latest 2008 starlet to walk away from PSG

It continues a worrying trend that was noticed last week which has seen a raft of young PSG stars walk away rather than sign a new contract.

From the 2008 generation offered new deals, only Adam Ayari accepted the Parisians’ offer. Meanwhile Hermann Malonga, Pierre Mouguengue, Mathis Jangeal and Martin James have all joined Mbemba in rejecting their development club and moving on for free.

The good news is, there’s always new talent being produced in the academy.

In other news…

Randal Kolo Muani is very much on his way out of PSG, with Juventus already in contact with the club over a transfer fee.

Yan Diomande is clearly established as PSG’s top attacking target for the summer, and the bids are starting to go in for the Leipzig man.
