Wout Faes could still leave Leicester City despite the English window closing on Tuesday, with a switch to sister club OH Leuven possible as Belgium’s market remains open, The Telegraph reports, after West Ham withdrew on deadline day.

The centre-back returned from a loan at AS Monaco after the French club opted not to keep him. Russell Martin used him in pre-season, but he has not featured in six competitive matches and is not expected to be part of the squad this season.

He missed the Northampton Town Carabao Cup tie for personal reasons, and last month Martin said he was not being considered while interest persisted. The 11pm deadline passed with Faes still on the books.

A late move to West Ham emerged as Nuno Espirito Santo looked to bolster his defence. A three-year verbal agreement was reported, though that was never the case, while there was genuine interest. Later, West Ham pulled out entirely and pursued Morato from Nottingham Forest.

Clubs in Faes’ home country can sign players until the end of today, Thursday, keeping a move away from Seagrave on the table. He came through Anderlecht, had loans at Heerenveen and Excelsior, joined Oostende in 2018 and moved to Reims in 2020.
