Wout Faes joins Monaco on loan

Leicester City centre-back Wout Faes has joined AS Monaco on loan until the end of the season.

The Belgium international arrived at Leicester from Reims in the summer of 2022 on a five-year deal and has gone on to make 135 appearances for the club. During the current campaign, Faes has featured regularly in the Championship, clocking up 854 minutes.

Monaco have moved to bolster their defensive options after a run of injuries at the back, with the Principality club confirming the arrival of the 27-year-old on a short-term deal.

According to reports, the loan includes an option to make the move permanent in the summer, with a fee believed to be between €5 million and €10 million depending on performance-related clauses.
