Wrexham have been urged to try and sign Leicester City centre-back Harry Souttar this summer.
Wrexham are heading into another season in the Championship and one in which they will believe they have the potential to push for promotion.
Following three successive promotions from the National League to the second-tier, Wrexham narrowly missed out on the top six and the play-off places at the end of last season.
The Red Dragons will be expected to challenge once again, especially with their heavy and ambitious investment – as well as the expansion of the play-off places to eight teams.
Wrexham have been quiet in the summer transfer window thus far with no signings yet made and only a few players having departed the club, such as Tom O’Connor, Andy Cannon and Paul Mullin.
Under the management of Phil Parkinson, Wrexham will have areas of the squad that they will want to bolster, and they have been linked with a move for Australia international centre-back Harry Souttar.

Harry Souttar has endured a difficult few years at Leicester City, having signed for The Foxes from Stoke City when Leicester were in the Premier League.
Injuries have majorly hampered his game time, with Leicester suffering back-to-back relegations, but he has impressed this summer for Australia at the FIFA World Cup.
The Socceroos reached the round of 32 in North America, with Souttar taking over the captaincy after the surprise dropping of Mat Ryan. Amid his impressive performances, he has been linked with Wrexham and FLW’s Wrexham Fan Pundit Liam Grice believes he would be a decent addition and that he suits Parkinson’s style.
Liam told FLW: “I think that Souttar is a very Phil Parkinson player. Obviously, the main attribute of that being the fact that he is 6ft 7in - he definitely fits the style of defender that Parkinson wants.
“He wants that imposing presence at the back and I think that his experience as well, being an international, along with Dom Hyam, would help Max Cleworth and Callum Doyle grow as well.
“His injury record is a bit worrying, but we have injury-prone players all across the pitch, so it’s not really a shock to us.
“If we can get him for cheap, then I wouldn’t be opposed to the move. He would bring in a lot of experience and some quality as well.
“We just have to manage him in terms of his injuries. Maybe at the start of the season, he would probably play back-up to Dom Hyam, but we saw Hyam fizzle out a little bit towards the end of the year, so Souttar would be a more than capable back-up if we ever have to rotate Hyam out for whatever reason.
“Definitely, I think he should be a player that Wrexham highly consider signing."

Born in Aberdeen and beginning his professional career with Dundee United, Harry Souttar shone for Stoke City, having joined them early on in his career and begun to establish himself as a first-team regular with The Potters in the 2020/21 campaign.
In the January transfer window of 2022, despite already beginning to show himself prone to injury, Leicester picked up Souttar as they battled the drop.
He couldn’t help steer them clear and his time at Leicester has been punctuated by a further two relegations, having spent their season back in the Premier League, following promotion in 2024, on loan at eventual play-off final losers Sheffield United.
Souttar did impress towards the back end of last season when he began to find fitness, and he has been the standout player in Tony Popovic’s Australia side this summer.
Parkinson loves a physical centre-back and a goal-scoring one, too, and Souttar fits the bill in both regards, having hit double figures for goals for Australia, in just 42 caps.
