Wrexham are monitoring Swansea City midfielder Ethan Galbraith ahead of the summer window, according to Wales Online. There is currently no breakthrough in his contract talks with the Swans.

The Northern Irishman has enjoyed a strong first Championship campaign, increasing his appeal. Premier League interest has emerged and there are suitors in the second tier.

Swansea want to secure the former Manchester United player on improved terms, despite two years left on his deal. The club also hold an additional 12-month option and, having improved Zan Vipotnik and Josh Tymon’s contracts, see Galbraith as a key asset.

The opening proposal was quickly rejected by Galbraith’s camp and is understood to have been well below the wage bracket of the club’s top earners. A second offer had been expected, but none has arrived so far.

Galbraith missed the final few weeks of the season after suffering an injury at the end of March. He is currently away with Northern Ireland, despite head coach Vitor Matos hoping he would be given the summer off.

In April, Matos said he did not feel it made sense for Galbraith to feature during the international break and believed rest would be best given the injury. He added the call would be made by medical staff from club and country.
