Wrexham are reportedly eyeing summer moves for Sunderland prospects Jenson Jones and Finn Geragusian as they seek to strengthen their pathway while pursuing a fourth straight promotion under former Black Cats manager Phil Parkinson.

TEAMtalk claims the Welsh club are plotting a quadruple North East swoop, with Newcastle United winger Matheos Ferreira and Middlesbrough forward Sonny Finch also under consideration.

Wrexham sit sixth in the second tier and are looking to bolster their development set-up to compete with leading academies higher up the English pyramid.

Jones has impressed at right-back for Graemy Murty’s U21s and trained with Regis Le Bris’ first-team squad during pre-season last summer. He has been named in four Premier League matchday squads this term.

Geragusian, 18, has scored 13 times in 25 appearances across Sunderland’s U18s and U21s this season and has earned a first senior Armenia call-up despite not yet debuting for the Black Cats.

Armenia head coach Yeghishe Melikyan said the call-up is to assess Geragusian in senior football and gauge his future with the national team. He praised the striker’s qualities but stressed he is very young, has no senior minutes and is not ready for the national side yet. He added the selection also reflects a shortage of options up front and cited Araik Eloyan as needing significant improvement to merit inclusion.
