The striker reached the 50-cap milestone for Wales vs Kazakhstan on Thursday

The experienced frontman was one of several new faces added to bolster a new-look Red Dragons side following the club's third successive promotion to the Championship, and his flying start to life at the Stok Cae Ras this season has been added to on the international stage.

Moore also made it an even greater night on a personal level, scoring the only goal of the FIFA World Cup European Qualifier for Craig Bellamy's side after 24 minutes, with Wales currently leading 'Group J' ahead of North Macedonia and Belgium as they look to qualify for successive World Cups after an underwhelming display in Qatar back in the winter of 2022.

Moore made his international bow for the Dragons on September 9th 2019 in a 1-0 success over Belarus at the Cardiff City Stadium, before scoring the first goal for his country in the following international break in a 1-1 draw with Slovakia as Wales eventually qualified for UEFA Euro 2020 under Ryan Giggs.

The vast majority of his international appearances would come in Rob Page's mixed three-and-a-half year tenure which saw Wales qualify for a World Cup for the first time since 1958, with Moore also netting his solitary goal in a major international tournament during the aforementioned European Championships in a 1-1 draw against Switzerland in Baku back in June 2021.

In total, the Torquay-born forward has scored 15 times for the Dragons in the past six years, with the latter of those coming on Thursday night as he put home the rebound after Swansea City striker, Liam Cullen, saw an initial header from a Harry Wilson free-kick saved by Temirlan Anarbekov midway through the first half.

Moore wasn't the only Championship performer to hit the landmark milestone in the encounter at the Astana Arena, with West Bromwich Albion centre-back, Chris Mepham, also accumulating a half-century of senior international caps.

Taking to social media post-match, the experienced centre-forward expressed his pride at reaching 50 caps, with the likes of former attacking colleagues from his time at Sheffield United and Ipswich Town reacting to those exploits.

"50 caps for Wales," Moore began via Instagram. "What an honour to represent my country every single time I step on the pitch."

"From the first cap to this milestone, it’s been a journey filled with hard work, sacrifice, and unforgettable moments.

"I’ll never take wearing this shirt for granted. Thank you to my family, teammates, coaches and the fans who have supported me along the way," he added.

Conor Chaplin, who recently rejoined boyhood club Portsmouth on loan from Ipswich, reacted by saying: "What a ledge❤️❤️ congrats mate"

Tom Cannon, who was also part of the Blades side which narrowly missed out on an immediate return to the Premier League last season posted: 👏🏻👏🏻"

Callum Doyle, who, like Moore, made the switch to North Wales in the summer, issued his congratulations too: "Congrats big man"

The likes of Kayden Jackson, Elliott Lee, Andre Brooks, Tyrese Campbell and Harrison Burrows also posted messages of support for their current and former teammate.

It has been an exceptional start to the season for Moore after his £2m switch from Bramall Lane in August, with the well-rounded frontman already making his presence felt under Phil Parkinson.

After getting off the mark for the Red Dragons with two goals against Sheffield Wednesday in an eventually disappointing 2-2 draw on home turf, the striker put his body on the line with a brave close-range header at the Den as Wrexham recorded their first second-tier win since 1982 last time out with a 2-0 victory at Millwall.

His exploits on international duty will be yet another major confidence boost as Wales look to secure their place in next year's finals in the United States, Canada and Mexico, but it will also be a major plus-point for his club side as they look to make their mark on the Championship after a summer of record-breaking investment.
