Jacob Wright has joined Norwich City on a permanent deal.
The 19-year-old spent the second half of the 2024/25 season on loan at Carrow Road and has now completed a transfer to the Championship club.
Manchester-born, Wright registered with our Academy as an eight-year-old and progressed through the ranks to sign a scholarship deal in 2022.
From there, he impressed with the Under-18s in 2022/23 as we won the U18 Premier League title.
He moved up to the EDS in 2023/24 and immediately became a focal point of the side, playing 30 times in the heart of midfield.
That form saw him earn first team recognition, making his senior debut as a second-half substitute in the FA Cup victory over Huddersfield Town in January 2024.
He backed that up with a cameo in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 defeat of Copenhagen a couple of months later.
After recovering from injury and starting the 2024/25 campaign with the EDS, Wright played in both of our League Cup ties – overcoming Watford before losing to Spurs.
He then joined Norwich on loan in February 2025 and played 15 times as the Canaries finished mid-table in the second tier.
Everyone at Manchester City would like to wish Jacob all the best for the next stage of his career.
