After a sensational end to 2025, Manchester City’s Khadija Shaw looks to be out of sight in the WSL golden boot race with a healthy lead over her competitors.
There has been no stopping Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw in England over the last three seasons.
Manchester City’s superstar striker has finished the season atop the goalscoring charts in back to back campaigns and this year she is on track for history.
No player has ever won three golden boot’s in a row – but it looks like Shaw is a near certainty to retain her title once again.
The race was relatively close heading towards the winter break, but with four goals in her last game of 2025, Shaw looks to be out of sight already.
With 12 goals this season City’s serial goalscorer holds a seven goal advantage over anyone else in the league and she is showing no signs of slowing down.
Shaw was unstoppable against Aston Villa with four goals sinking City’s opponents and keeping them on pace to win the title this year.
There is still a six point gap between City and Chelsea at the top of the WSL heading into the winter break.
After six years of domination by Chelsea, the title finally looks like someone else’s to lose this year with the Cityzens in the driving seat to finally get back on top.
With City not having to worry about European football this season, they have full focus on the WSL and look like the team to beat every time they step onto the pitch.
Shaw is on track to not only win the golden boot, but also another PFA Player of the Year award if City can actually win the league.
After scoring six goals in her last two games it also seems improbable that anyone other than Shaw will win December’s player of the month.
